To use these pumpkin templates, print them out, adjusting the size % if needed (and if your print driver allows!). Those cheap pumpkin carving tool sets found everywhere in October do an excellent job of carving – especially the thin small saw. Use the poking tool or a toothpick to poke holes through the paper into your pumpkin skin, so that you can trace the poked dots with the thin saw or a serrated knife. Trace out the BLACK areas to carve – the white areas are where your pumpkin will remain intact. I am very particular about ensuring that the final pumpkin carving patterns are well connected to give you stability in your final product. It’s helpful to cut out the small or center areas first and work outwards.
